The recording sessions are informal. Someone brings a phone, a neighbor brings a box of photographs, and the conversation starts with a question about the first house they remember on the block.

The answers move through factory shifts, grocery stores, church suppers, and the people who knew how to fix almost anything. Organizers are careful to preserve the pauses and changes of subject because those are often where the most personal details surface.

The recordings will eventually be added to a local history collection with permission from each participant. For now, the project is creating a reason for neighbors to sit together and listen closely.
